Regular followers of this blog know what a fan I am of correspondent Michael Yon (I last mentioned him here) and of LTC Erik Kurilla and the other members of his unit, the Deuce Four.

Maybe these two pictures, both taken by Michael, will help explain why:

The first picture is LTC Kurilla collapsing after taking a bullet to each leg and one to one arm. The second picture, taken a few seconds later, is LTC Kurilla continuing to fight on.

I may never have mentioned it before, but I'm also a major fan of Bruce Willis, one of a pathetically small number of Hollywood actors to support our troops and their mission in Iraq. You can imagine then, my joy at this news:

ANGERED by negative portrayals of the conflict in Iraq, Bruce Willis, the Hollywood star, is to make a pro-war film in which American soldiers will be depicted as brave fighters for freedom and democracy.

It will be based on the exploits of the heavily decorated members of Deuce Four, the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry, which has spent the past year battling insurgents in the northern Iraqi town of Mosul.

The only possible way I can think of to improve on Willis's decision is if he could somehow persuade Mel Gibson to costar as Command Sergeant Major Prosser, who was nearly as important to Deuce Four as LTC Kurilla himself. Maybe if we make enough noise ...
