Let's hear it for the UAW </snark> It seems the UAW has taken a dislike to anyone driving a "foreign" car, and to anyone with a George Bush bumper sticker, and that attitude takes priority over respect for this nation's Warriors. As Greyhawk points out, "foreign car" is getting sort of tough to define these days. My brother in law makes vehicle seats at the ATS plant a couple of miles outside the little bitty Illinois town I grew up in. The plant's entire production goes to the Toyota plant in Princeton, Indiana. I guess that makes Toyotas "foreign." If my retroactive VA pension check gets here unmolested (times have been tough and I owe some back taxes) I'll be looking for a decent used car -- something that will get me to Texas and back a few times. I might end up with a Honda made in Ohio, or I might end up with a Toyota made in Indiana, but, whatever I buy, you can bet your bippy it won't be something made in Michigan (or Canada, but that's a separate issue.) |
