IT'S THE ENFORCEMENT, STUPID! PRO-ENFORCEMENT IS NOT ANTI-IMMIGRANT! It's time for me to join Michelle Malkin's crusade on a subject she's been pushing for months: immigration control. I've agreed with her all along but the idea of a Kerry presidency was so repulsive to me that I refused to say anything publicly that could be taken as anti-Bush in any way, shape or form. That's behind us now and it's high time for W to get his act together about some things. As Michelle points out here:

Go read all of both pieces. They're worth your time. Listen closely, George: I'm a voter. I voted for you and you owe it to me to pay some attention to my viewpoint on this. Try to understand that I really don't give a damn if it hurts some poor little wetback's feelings to throw his ass in jail for long enough to do the paperwork, then throw him right back across the river. If that means the price of fruit goes up a little because the growers had to pay someone who was here legally to pick it, that's fine. If that means housing prices in the border states go up a little because the builders have to hire legal help, that's life. We're in a war, George. We elected you because John Kerry doesn't realize that and we thought you did. Now show us you really do. The truth is, I could care less about poor little Paco sneaking across the border to make a few bucks picking California grapes or roofing houses in Texas. Ain't no skin off my nose. Under the current thinking what I witnessed could very well be OBL's raghead brigade seeking amnesty, so they can infiltrate and subvert our way of life.
